We take a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative and qualitative methods to generate new datasets describing energy access, use and socioeconomic characteristics across rural Nigeria. Data collection activities are closely coordinated with Nigerian project partners best placed to ensure safe and effective management of the field survey team.
A broad range of stakeholders have emphasized that poor data availability across rural Nigeria is hindering the growth of the off-grid energy sector. The PeopleSuN project brings together selected universities, civil society organizations and private energy access firms from both Nigeria and Germany, to design and implement surveys and other data collection activities to fill this data gap.
